1. Who these terms are for
These Terms of Use and End User Agreement apply to Castaway Life for Android and iOS, provided by Sandro Pesce, trading as LazyShoreGames, Merheimer Str. 444, 50735 Köln, Germany (“we”, “us”). They cover your use of the game. Store transactions also follow the terms presented by the store at checkout.

2. Accepting the agreement
The startup prompt in Castaway Life for Android and iOS links these terms and the privacy notice and names Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. Choosing “Accept & continue” records your acceptance of the EULA and the described collection of gameplay events and crash reports. The game then enables both services, subject to their technical availability. There are no separate analytics or crash-reporting switches. Both services remain enabled while the shared acceptance is in place; playing with either service individually switched off is not offered.
If you choose “Do not accept”, the game does not start. You can return to the agreement or close the app. Opening this webpage or a document link does not by itself record acceptance. Players who previously accepted a prompt covering only the EULA are asked to accept the expanded prompt before these services are enabled.
These terms do not retrospectively remove rights from purchases or agreements you have already made. If you have purchased content and cannot continue, contact support so that we can address your access and any applicable statutory rights.
If you cannot enter into this agreement independently under the law that applies to you, a parent or legal guardian must consent where that law requires it. Store age ratings describe content suitability and do not replace those rules.
3. Your permission to play
Subject to applicable store licence terms, we grant you a non-exclusive right to install and play the game on compatible devices that you own or are authorised to use, for your personal entertainment. The game’s software, artwork, music, names and other content remain protected by their respective owners’ rights. Buying an item grants the described in-game use; it does not transfer ownership of the game’s intellectual property.
You may not redistribute the game as your own, sell unauthorised copies or bypass payment or access protections. Restrictions on copying, modification or analysis do not override permissions required by law, including applicable interoperability rights, or licences supplied with third-party components.
4. Progress and device storage
Castaway Life stores progress and settings on your device. Deleting app data, uninstalling the game or replacing a device can affect that local progress. Operating-system backups depend on your device settings. Do not assume that progress or consumable items automatically transfer between devices, store accounts or platforms.
Keep your app data while contacting support about missing progress. These practical limitations do not exclude statutory rights if the game fails to meet the agreed requirements.
5. Optional purchases and virtual items
Optional in-app purchases are shown in the game and confirmed through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Check the item description, price, seller and store checkout information before buying. We do not charge you merely for accepting these terms.
Some purchases provide lasting unlocks; consumable items, such as in-game currency, are used up as you play. Restoration depends on the type of purchase, the store account and the available restoration function. Spent consumables are not the same as a permanent unlock.
Virtual items are intended for use within Castaway Life. They are not a bank balance or a payment service, and the game does not offer a cash-out or player-to-player trading service. This does not restrict any refund, withdrawal, repair or other remedy available to you by law.
Payment and refund requests can be handled through the store involved. You can also contact us about missing delivery or an incorrect entitlement. Any statutory withdrawal right and the legal conditions for its expiry are unaffected by accepting this EULA; acceptance is not a separate waiver of those rights.
6. Gameplay data, advertising and withdrawal
Firebase Analytics records gameplay events to help us understand and improve play. Firebase Crashlytics provides crash reports to help find and fix faults. Both are covered by the shared acceptance described in section 2. The Castaway Life privacy notice explains the data, purposes, recipients, retention and your rights.
The game can display advertising. The shared startup acceptance does not grant permission for personalised advertising. Where required, advertising choices are presented in a separate Google consent form and any applicable operating-system prompt. Advertising availability and any optional reward are explained by the relevant in-game offer. The scope of an ad-removal purchase follows its product description.
You can withdraw the shared acceptance through Main menu → Settings → Withdraw EULA acceptance. A confirmation explains the consequence. Choosing “Withdraw & quit” disables analytics and crash-report collection and closes the game or leaves it blocked if the operating system does not close it. Your saved progress and purchase entitlements are kept. You must accept the agreement again before playing.
Withdrawal does not automatically delete data already sent to a service provider or cancel store purchases. Advertising choices are managed separately through the advertising privacy control where available. Your statutory data-protection rights and the legal requirements for valid consent remain unaffected by these terms.
7. Updates and changes
We may provide updates to fix errors, address security issues and maintain compatibility. The game’s description and any statutory obligations to provide updates remain applicable. An update does not give us an unrestricted right to remove paid entitlements or change agreed features.
Changes beyond those needed to keep a digital product conforming to the contract are subject to the legal conditions that apply, including any required reason, notice and right to end the contract. We do not charge additional amounts solely because we change these terms.
If an amendment to this agreement requires your consent, we will explain the change and ask for that consent. A new date on this webpage, silence or continued use alone does not automatically establish your agreement to new terms.
8. Responsible use
Use the game lawfully and respect the rights of others. Do not use it to distribute malicious software, interfere with services, obtain unauthorised access or falsify purchase entitlements. Applicable third-party licence terms and store rules also remain relevant.
9. Ending use and existing rights
You can stop playing at any time. Deleting the app does not by itself submit a refund request, delete information already held by service providers or cancel a separate store transaction. Contact the relevant store or us when you need help with those matters.
Any restriction or termination by us must have a lawful basis and respect applicable notice, remedy and consumer-protection requirements. These terms do not provide for automatic loss of all purchases or an unrestricted right to terminate access without a reason.
10. Defects, liability and consumer rights
Your statutory rights apply, including rights concerning the supply and conformity of digital products and any remedies for defects. We remain liable as required by applicable law. These terms contain no general “as is” exclusion, fixed damages cap or waiver of mandatory consumer rights.
If something does not work as agreed, contact support with your game version, device details and a description of the problem. Please do not send passwords or full payment-card details.
11. App Store and Google Play
Your agreement to use Castaway Life is with the applicable provider or licensor, not a promise of support by Apple or Google. Store terms govern the store services and checkout.
For iOS, the licence agreed through the App Store also applies. Where no custom EULA has been supplied there, see Apple’s Standard EULA. This webpage does not replace that App Store licence or override mandatory store usage rules. Contact us for support with the game.
For Android, the applicable Google Play terms continue to govern your use of the store. Mandatory rights remain unaffected on either platform.
12. Applicable law and contact
German law applies to this agreement. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protection under the law that would otherwise apply in your country of habitual residence. Statutory rules on jurisdiction remain unchanged; no exclusive court location is imposed on consumers by these terms.
The English and German versions describe the same agreement. Mandatory rights are not limited by a translation. If a provision is ineffective, the applicable statutory rules apply in its place.
